Brisk trade at ACA and Mathewsons
Both Anglia Car Auctions and Mathewsons had a busy sale weekend with plenty of brisk bidding on Saturday as well as Sunday for ACA. It will take a few days before all of their results are up, but it was clear that the best quality cars found a ready supply of willing bidders such as the near £13,000 paid for a 1967 Sunbeam Rapier estimated at £9,000 to £10,000 at Mathewsons or the £20,000 plus paid for 1961 Foden S21 estimated at £10,000 to £12,000.
Brightwells online results now available
The Brightwells sale did not throw up any major surprises although we did note that a MG TF 1250 did sell at a relatively low level of just over £17,000 although without inspecting the car there may well be reason for that. Nevertheless from the pictures and description which includes a full engine rebuild just 2,600 miles ago, this does seem something of a bargain for a uk right hand drive home market car.
ACA and Mathewsons next Saturday

With their new premises Mathewsons are able to sell a huge number of cars in one day with up to 360 lots on offer whilst ACA will be selling comfortably over 200 cars over the weekend.

New auction record for a Triumph TR6 at Historics
Historics latest sale which took place yesterday produced a new record for a Triumph TR6 which sold for an estimate busting £57,732 against the estimate of £28,000 to £35,000. The car had been the subject of a £70,000 restoration and the finished product certainly reflected that as did the price paid.

Historics next sale takes place on the 18th July and they have recruited Vicki Butler-Henderson to give an overview of the sale and her top picks of the cars on offer. We are going to stray from the big name cars and suggest a rather nice car to look at is the Talbot Ten Tourer.
