No reserve bargains at Historics

No reserve bargains at Historics

16 December 2020

We suspect the ongoing pandemic and an understandable general reluctance to travel at present led to several of Historics no reserve cars being left with few bidders. There is also an assumed thought process that no reserve cars at auction usually end up with lots of spirited bidding and achieved prices sometimes better than if a big reserve/estimate is placed on the car.

Bonhams Speed Week sale results

Bonhams Speed Week sale results

21 October 2020

Bonhams Speed Week sale held this past weekend at the Goodwood event of the same name generated a low sale rate, but bearing in mind we are in the middle of a pandemic and the cars on offer were right at the top end despite some some fantastic cars being available, it was perhaps not that surprising. There were still lots of good results and at any other time we believe the numbers would have been a lot better, but with pandemic restrictions now taking effect across the country people are less inclined at the moment to travel to auction viewing days.

Strong bidding at Historics

Strong bidding at Historics

27 September 2020

Bidding at yesterday's Historics was very strong and suggest that despite all of the horrors going on all around us the market for classic cars remains very strong indeed. We think this was a particularly strong result for Historics with many cars beating the upper end of their estimates and even the no reserve cars did extremely well on the day.
