1948 AC 2-Litre Drophead Coupe at H&H
The first sale for H&H which will be at the Duxford air museum already has some interesting cars consigned and one in particular is a 1948 AC 2-Litre Drophead Coupe which is according to the narrative one of just 14 such examples produced by AC and is in fact the sole surviving car. That makes the estimate of £20,000 to £25,000 look quite attractive given the rarity factor.
Big turnout at ACA
As always seems to be the case at the start of a new year at Anglia Car Auctions there is always a big turnout with buyers looking for their next summer motoring charge whilst dealers seek out fresh stock as they gear up for spring and the inevitable rush. The end result is a packed house, possibly a top three all time attendance rate and with that brings lots of good sales.
ACA next week
The lot list for Anglia Car Auction's first sale of the year on the 25th Jan is now looking quite full with plenty to interest most pockets. A good number of no reserve cars as well which always pulls in the punters.
Auction catalogues begin to build
With 2020 now upon us momentum will start to build fast across the various auction houses as they build their lot lists in readiness for the first sales of the year. The ACA list is already gathering momentum and they kick their first sale of the year off on the 25th Jan.
AC Greyhound at Bonhams MPH sale next week
Earlier this year Brightwells sold a rather lovely and super rare AC Greyhound which was the first such example to come to market for some time. Next week brings another car to be sold by Bonhams at the second of their MPH sales in Bicester.
Classic Car Auctions sale tomorrow
Classic Car Auctions next sale takes place tomorrow at the usual venue of the Warwickshire Event Centre. The sale as always has an excellent selection of cars available in the sub £50k category which is where the action is at at the moment.
Anglia Car Auctions lot list news
The lot list for the next Anglia Car Auctions sale has only just begun, but already they have car gold in there in the form of a 1987 Ford Sierra RS Cosworth with just 7,349 miles from new!
Bonhams Goodwood Revival sale on the 14th September
Bonhams Goodwood Revival sale promises to be a real test of the current health of the market in classics. The sale list is full of high end collectible cars which should generate plenty of interest.
Wolseley van at Hobbs Parker
When did you last see one of these? The answer is probably never, but you will have the opportunity to do so at Hobbs Parker's auction on the 12th July 2019. Hobbs Parker are yet to give full details and we shall certainly be keeping a close eye on this lot given the rarity factor.
Anglia Car Auctions this Saturday
ACA have their next mammoth sale this coming Saturday with lots to interest most budgets. Our choice is a very nice Triumph Herald with just 33,000 miles on the clock.
Ford Pilot sells for £19,580 at Barons
In an otherwise difficult sale for Barons this week, one highlight was a fabulous nut and bolt rebuilt Ford Pilot. It really looked stunning and the result reflected that at £19,580.
Bonhams Goodwood Members meeting achieves 70% sale rate.
Bonhams Goodwood sale achieved a respectable 70% sale rate yesterday with the top seller being an Aston Martin DB5 which had a vantage specification and sold for £636,600. To see the full results list, please click link 1.
