Priced at £450,000 this car is expected to accumulate offers well over its previous sale record of £203,437. This Group B rally car is believed to be one of just 2 examples left. The rally icon features a 3-litre v6 engine producing an immense 410bhp which propelled the car from 0-60 in an estimated 3.1 seconds. Besides not having the advantage of a turbo like the majority of other Group B cars, Tony Pond managed to take one of these cars to the podium after achieving 3rd place in the 1985 Lombard RAC Rally. Unfortunately, the car's success was short lived. After being entered into rallies at Monte Carlo, Corsica, Sweden and Portugal during the 1986 season, problems with the Metros' v6 stopped them from finishing the courses. Subsequently, Group B was banned as a result of fatal crashes.
