Values of pre war cars may well be on the wane but there are exceptions and a car with history from a recognised marque can still do very well at auction. A good case in point is a Jaguar SS100 2.5 litre which sold at auction this week for £393,000. The car had superb provenance having won the RAC rally in 1937 and was also a 1937 Monte Carlo rally entrant. The car has in the past been rebuilt to concours standard and really looks the part. Having also been part of other Jaguar publicity and being one of just 191 2.5 litre cars it is a real rarity.
