Bonhams Automobilia report
09 December 2013
Bonhams last automobilia auction of the year took place today. For us the steal of the auction has to be the Dominion petrol pump globe where good examples can regularly go for £600 plus. We did not see today's example, but assuming it is original and if in good order the price paid of just £125 was a bargain for someone. The sale also included a very pretty Shell from the sealed pump enamel sign which not surprisingly went for £1375 including premium. Demand for anything Michelin remains strong at the moment and a French compressor in reasonable order sold for £600. For the petrol pump globe hunters there was a very nice Cleveland Motor Diesel globe which sold for £625. Overall there was something for everyone in today's sale including an excellent selection of mascots and books. We look forward to automobilia hunting next year at Bonhams auctions.
