Bidding at Brightwells under way.

Brightwells latest online auction kicked off yesterday with the sale due to finish on Thursday. Among the varied lot list is a 1963 Triumph Dove GTR4. This is something of a marmite car when it comes to the design aesthetics but given the rarity of the Harrington body of which just 50 examples are said to have been made according to the narrative, this car will undoubtedly draw plenty of interest. It is running and driving but judging by the narrative could well do with some restoration work. The car did originally start life as a TR4 with a surrey top but a donor GTR4 Dove in 1988 was used to create the car that is on sale this week. The estimate is £20,000 to £25,000 and it will be interesting to see how well the car does.

We will also be interested to see how well the 1989 Fiat Panda MkI 4x4 does. These have been tipped as cars for good future price appreciation potential and this one with just 21,500 miles from new is surely going to do well. The estimate here is £6,000-8,000.

One car which could easily break through its upper estimate of £4,500-6,500 is the 1976 Ford Granada 2000 GL Mk1 which has completed just 12,300 miles. The car has just emerged from long term storage and whilst in need of restoration the narrative suggests it is relatively sound.
