ACA and SWVA this week.

The auction houses start getting back into action this week. First up is SWVA in Dorset who have a lot list which is primarily focused on the budget end of the market. One car which is going to be on few radars but would provide you with an entry into the Festival of the Unexceptional is the rare 1982 Morris Ital which appears to have a little over 44,000 miles on the clock. The condition seems very original and with an estimate of £1,000 - £2,000 it looks like a great entry car to the world of classic car ownership.

On the opposite side of the country ACA will be holding their first sale of the year in Kings Lyn and as always there is an interesting and eclectic mix of cars on offer. There are also lots of budget cars and restorations on offer along with more exotic cars such as a GT40 replica. Among the restorations are a 1969 Ford Lotus Cortina MK2 which has been off the road since 1992 albeit with a rebuilt engine. This one is no reserve and with the market being somewhat quiet at the moment, this might be the perfect opportunity to pick up a bargain. Our pick of the bunch is a 1978 ROVER SD1 2600 with just 14,000 miles on the clock. The survival numbers for these cars are very low indeed and finding a low mileage example next to impossible which makes this car quite appealing. The estimate is yet to be confirmed.
