About the Alvis FA 1.5 Litre 12/50
The Alvis FA 1.5 Litre was a Front Wheel Drive car which provided a different type of handling back in the 1920s.in the UK, where FWD was a rarity. The engine was slightly smaller than the RWD 12/50s of its era, at 1481cc. It was fitted with a 4-speed manual gearbox.
Two FWD cars were entered in Le Mans and finished in 6th and 9th place. They finished 1st. and 2nd. in class in 1928. Alvis made 155 FWD cars of which 26 were FA short chassis roadsters. A supercharger option was available which boosted power to 75 bhp.
Cross and Ellis made roadster bodies.
