South Western Vehicle Auctions

SWVA's latest auction did include a larger number than usual of budget classics, but there were a few gems within the sale which went on to achieve very good prices. The notable results were two Austin A35 variants, one being a van and the other a pick-up. The latter was in fantastic condition having been treated to a £25,000 restoration and the hammer price of £21,000 excluding the 8% buyers premium was no surprise. The van also did very well achieving £10,000 plus the buyers 8% premium. Well restored MGB GTs have seen a sudden surge in auction prices recently and this sale included a MK1 car with restoration costs on file showing over £16,000 spent and this helped to propel it to a hammer price of £14,000 excluding the 8% buyers premium. Finally, another car that has been subject to a complete restoration was an MG Y Type that has had £35,000 spent on it. The hammer price of £17,000 excluding 8% buyers tax reflected that and was close to world record pace for a Y Type.
