Silverstone Auctions

Silverstone Auctions first sale of the year at the Race Retro delivered lots of strong results. Some of the stand out results include the £93,375 paid for a Porsche 911T which was a rare right hand drive variant, but the number paid is not far off S territory. Low mileage cars continue to command a serious premium and a 1998 Ferrari F355 went all the way to £136,125 a considerable premium over a car with a higher mileage. A Porsche 911(930) Turbo with just 39,600 miles on the clock also did well achieving £109,125. Ferrari prices are certainly holding up at present and with some models we are still seeing further appreciation in values and that was certainly the case with a Ferrari Dino 246GT in this sale which hit a final price of £439,875 although again it was a low mileage example showing just 34,935 miles on the clock. Demand for BMW 2002 cars has risen significantly in recent months with good examples finding homes very quickly. Prices have undoubtedly been rising in response to the interest these cars are generating and this sale provided a good example with a 2002 Tii making its way to £20,250. It was not that long ago that these cars struggled to make it above the £10k mark.
