Classic Car Auctions

Just a few days ahead of the June referendum this sale was up against it given the slightly nervous backdrop to the economy at present. That said, the overall results look quite respectable and we have seen a continuation of the theme with certain marques such as fast Fords still achieving premium prices. The best example in this sale is the Ford Capri Brooklands which has 60468 miles on the clock and went on to achieve a very strong £29,810. The series 1 Ford Escort Turbo has seen a meteoric rise in valuation this year and this sale included a 1985 car that appeared in good order although was a high mileage car with 105,935 miles on the clock but still achieved a very respectable £18,700. Possibly the bargain of the sale was the £38,720 paid for the 1978 Porsche 911 (930) Turbo. Given that a nice 911SC or 3.2 Carrera can set you back the best part of £40k these days, if this car is in good order the buyer has done well.
