Anglia Car Auctions

ACA's first sale of the year achieved good results with 80.5% of the cars finding new homes. There were a few standout results such as the £14,700 paid for a Singer Vogue Estate which had a recorded mileage of 18,976 miles and was clearly in very original condition. This must surely be a record for this make and model of car. A more predictable result was the £50,400 paid for the restoration BMW 3.0CSL. The value of these cars has been sky-rocketing in recent months. A MK1 Lotus Cortina achieved slightly above its estimate at £37,275 which was about right for a MK1 car. All series of Lotus Esprit have started to tick higher in value over the last year with the rare series 1 cars leading the way, but not far behind have been the Turbo powered cars and in this sale a Lotus Esprit Turbo that has been in a barn for several years and is in need of restoration still achieved a strong £19,425. Another more predictable result has to be the £50,400 paid for a Porsche 928 GTS. Being just one of 46 right hand drive cars, it was perhaps not that surprising to see it exceed its estimate of £36,000 to £40,000. The larger engined (2.5 lire) Riley RMF has continued to demand a premium over the 1.5 lire cars and the example in this sale was no exception, fetching a healthy £15,540. Overall a typical ACA auction with a nice selection of cars which attracted some spirited bidding helping to achieve a strong sale rate.
