The Austin A30 was a small economy car introduced at the 1951 Earls Court motor show. It used the Austin A series 4 cylinder OHV engine with a single Zenith carburrettor, and had a 4 speed gearbox, and 12 volt electrics. Brakes were hydraulic drums at the front with rod operated brakes at the rear. It had individual front seats with a bench seat at the rear. It was the first monocoque car that Austin made with semi elliptic springs at the rear with lever arm dampers and coil springs at the front. It was fitted with opening front quarterlights.
