Bonhams last UK sale of the year generated some interesting results suggesting that prices are undoubtedly still quite weak and if you get your timing right bargains can be had. The standout one for us was the £74,166 paid including premium for a 1961 Flat Floor Series 1 3.8 E-Type Roadster. The car is the 164th right hand drive car to come off the production line. Not so long ago you would not envisage bagging one of these for less than £100k and usually quite a premium to this was required. This car had been restored professionally over the last four years making it something of an end of year bargain if the condition was good. For those with less spending money how about £1,265 for a Daimler DE27 Limo! According to the narrative it drives well but is in need of some cosmetic refreshment. Even so at just over £1k that has to be another big bargain basement price.
