ACA on the 25th August
18 August 2018
With the summer holidays rapidly drawing to a close the auction season will return into full swing mode and next weekend's ACA sale is a good place to start. As usual it is a jumbo sized sale with lots of very different cars on offer. There are also a few cars left over from a recent private treaty sale which has boosted the lot numbers. At their June sale ACA achieved a record breaking £22,790 for a Ford Granada 3.0 MK1 and unsurprisingly this sale has no less than three such examples undoubtedly hoping to cash in after the strong result from the last sale. We will be interested to see if the Lotus Esprit Series 1 makes its estimate of £39,000 to £45,000. Private asking prices have sky rocketed for these cars, but there is yet to be any auction evidence that the high asking prices are achievable. The Triumph Spitfire MK2 looks good value at its estimate of £5,000 to £6,000 as does the GT6 Mk1 which is estimated at £8,500 to £10,500.The restoration prize goes to a TR4A which has been in the same family since 1967 and is being sold without reserve. Lots for everyone which should mean another well attended sale next Saturday.
