About the Allard P1

Sidney Herbert Allard formed his motor company in 1945 and was based in Clapham SE London. In 1952, along with his co drivers, Sidney along with his team, won the Monte Carlo Rally ln an Allard P1. He is the only person to have both driven and manufactured a car that has won the Monte Carlo Rally. The Allard P1 was a saloon version of the Allard M1 DHC. It was built using a Ford V8 side-valve engine and 3 speed gearbox. The windscreen was hinged at the top to open.
