Classic Car Auctions

Classic Car Auctions sale on the 23rd September achieved some very respectable results with a sale rate of around the 80% mark. Standout cars on the day included the £35,750 paid for a 1946 MG TC. The car had been subjected to a thorough restoration but even so the price of £35,750 was near record pace for one of these. Low mileage cars always find ready buyers at the moment and a Datsun 260Z with just 8,284 miles was no exception fetching a full £24,750. We are always on the lookout for the next upwardly mobile classic and one contender has to be the VW Corrado VR6 and especially the Storm model with just 500 cars produced. This sale included one such example which was relatively low mileage at 62,400 and this enabled it to punch just above its estimate to reach £11,000. There might well be more upside in these cars over the coming years. The BME E30 M3 has seen serious appreciation in value in recent years, especially the rarer right hand drive variants. A 1988 EVO 2 car with 105,763 miles on the clock made a very strong 48,400 and with just 500 cars in existence we can't help but feel there is further upside over the coming years.
