The authors trace the evolution of the Morgan Three Wheeler from 1909 to the end of production in 1952, giving details of body designs, annual mechanical improvements and full specifications of the various engines fitted. Modifications were an essential feature in the development of the racing Morgans, and the authors also describe the many specialised versions prepared by private owners, and their impact on the competition scene. Throughout, first hand reminiscences of designers, engineers and competitors are interwoven with vivid descriptions of the often arduous trials, races and courses of the period.

The book includes a remarkable selection of contemporary and rare photographs, many published here for the first time. Illustrating the various models and the wide range of events in which they competed, these portray all the stages in the development of the racing three wheeler, from the very first 90 bore JAP-engined machines right through to Cyril Hale's Mark I JAP-engined racer.
