Bristol 406 Fetches Just £27k

It came as a shock to see this stunning 1961 Bristol 406 fetch just £27,679 at Dore and Rees' February sale especially after having £6000 recently spent on it along with its increasing rarity, now being one of just seven registered in the UK.

The Bristol 406 was introduced as a luxury car in 1958. These cars were constructed to a very high standard and were built to last long in order to justify its price being only fifty pounds cheaper than the Aston Martin DB4GT. Despite being of a similar price, performance wise the Bristol was not up to the Aston's standards. Its 2.2-litre engine produced just 105bhp which was sluggish compared to the Aston Martin's mighty 240bhp straight six.

With only seven registered cars left in the UK this was a rare opportunity to snatch up one of these cars for a steal. Not long ago you would have to pay upwards of £40k to get your hands on a nice example. This car was last listed on the open market in October 2020 at almost £45k.
