AC 2 litre drophead coupe at Brightwells

Brightwells next online auction kicks off today and closes on the 30th March. Among the many interesting lots there is a 1950 AC 2-Litre Drophead Tourer which is one of only 10 made and of just 4 that are believed to have survived. The AC 2 litre is not what you would class as a design classic and for many it something of a marmite car in saloon form, but the drophead which loses the somewhat square lines of the saloon is a different matter and is in our view aesthetically pleasing when compared to a saloon. This particular example has had extensive restoration work over the years but is in need of finishing. If you want to be the rarest car on the field in this year's classic shows this one is hard to beat and good value at the estimate of £15,000-18,000.
