2805 mile E-Type restoration sells for £99k at Silverstone Auctions

One of the standout results of the weekend's Silverstone Auctions sale was the £99k paid for a 1964 Series 1 E-type 4.2 which was is in need of total restoration. The car had previously been sold by ACA in 2016 for £115,000 but had had nothing done. It has only ever been driven by its first owner who crashed it at the Snetterton race circuit when the car was only 3 months old. The price has softened a little since 2016 and whoever has bought it will face a significant restoration bill, but he is going to be the only person with a less than 3,000 miles E-type!
