Austin Seven Ulster at Brightwells
It was interesting to see another A7 Ulster come to market at Brightwells last month. The number of true factory cars as per this car is very limited and yet we have seen several come to market this year which is a first for a long time.

Anglia Car Auctions latest sale generated plenty of interest with probably one of the best lot lists they have had in many years. The barn find AC collection along with an array of E-Types all in need of serious restoration generated plenty of interest and all got away at good prices.

Silverstone Auctions Dawn of Motoring Sale
Silverstone Auctions Dawn of Motoring sale will take place on the 4th August and the lot list is building nicely. There are some real gems in this sale with a number of SS Cars due to be sold which as many of you will know was William Lyons company before it became Jaguar.
New record for an MG Metro Turbo at Historics today
Today's result at Historics with £22,400 paid for an MG Metro Turbo is a new UK record for one of these and understandably so given the 7,369 miles on the clock and concours condition of the car. Once again provenance and originality do count and this result will be hard to beat for some time for an Metro although they have clearly been rising in value in recent years.
Jaguar SS100 sells for £393,000 at H&H
Values of pre war cars may well be on the wane but there are exceptions and a car with history from a recognised marque can still do very well at auction. A good case in point is a Jaguar SS100 2.

This coming Saturday brings the CCA summer sale and along with the usual fare of cars to suit most budgets are a good number of cars for restoration which come from the Warwickshire collection. The car are all very sensibly estimated and more likely than not will achieve sums comfortably above their estimates.

Silverstone Auctions next sale takes place at Sywell Aerodrome, Northampton, NN6 0BN on the 20th May. It will feature two extremely low mileage Aston Martin cars which will undoubtedly create a lot of interest.
Brian May Bristol sale results now available
If you are a Bristol enthusiast you will appreciate the impact the late Brian May had on the hobby with his extensive collection of Bristol cars and parts which he supplied to enthusiasts over many decades. The sale of his remaining collection of cars and parts took place this week at Brightwells and the results are now available on their website.

Michael Caine's Rolls Royce sells for £135,000
Some celebrity names attached to a car can create very strong interest and a real premium price for a seller. One such example is a sale by H&H on the 15th March of a 1968 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow Two-Door Drophead Coupe which was supplied new to Sir Michael Caine CBE.
