About the Jaguar 420
This was the model to follow the S-Type and was designed with a rear end and body similar to the S-Type, but the front of the car was made to appear similar to the MK 10/420 G. Like the S-Type it had independent rear suspension and it had the option of power steering. This was the precursor to the very successful XJ6. Most were automatic but there was an option for a manual gearbox with overdrive. .
