About the AC Ace - Ford
The AC Ace which was designed by John Tojeiro, introduced in 1953, and built by AC Cars of Thames Ditton in the UK. It was one of the first British sports cars built after world war 2. The early Ace cars utilised the standard 1991cc AC engine which had been used in the AC 2 litre car. .As time wore on the ACE was developed further which included the introduction of front disc brakes from 1956, and the option for more powerful engines to be fitted. One of these was the Ford Zephyr 2.6 Litre, equipped with triple SUs or Webers.
Construction of the ACE body was aluminium panels on a steel tube frame.
During their years of production AC have produced certain models that became some of the prettiest cars of their periods. The ACE was one of those models.
