The sale rate really says it all about SWVA's sale on Friday 26th June. The cars tend to be in the £20k or lower bracket and they nearly always have very tempting estimates which generally get blasted away as spirited bidding and the chance of a cheap classic drives prices on. There were no major surprises and a lot of the cars unsurprisingly beat their low estimates. There were two particularly nice MGs in the sale, one was a heritage bodied roadster which looked exceptionally nice and made £12,800 plus premium. Unsurprisingly at the moment this car is on with a dealer who hoovers up all nice MGs at auction at a price comfortably over £16k and we suspect given the market appetite for these cars at the moment the car will find a ready buyer even at this heady price level. The other was a very nice MG Magnette ZA which also blasted through its estimate to £14,000 plus buyer's premium. If you are hoping for a bargain at any auction at the moment, forget it!!
