Historics
12 March 2016
Historics first auction of the year at their usual base of the Brooklands Museum brought together an interesting selection of cars. The result of approximately 70% of cars finding new homes suggests as we have seen with other sales so far this year of a steady market with less in the way of cars finding exceptional prices but many meeting estimates. It is difficult to pick out any significant results from this sale but it is noteworthy that the majority of the 80s Porsches found new homes at good prices, a trend we expect to continue as these cars play catch up in valuation to the earlier models.Several rare pre war Taxis were consigned to this sale but only one found a new home. We see the market in pre and early post war cars as weakening at present judging by the time it is taking for private and dealer stock to find new homes at the right price. Whilst we dd not see the car, an Austin Healey 3000 MK3 BJ8 which appeared to be in sound condition and a genuine right hand drive example appeared good value at £33,040 inclusive of premium. Overall a good opening sale for Historics and we look forward to the next sale on the 9th June.
