Historics

Historics sale at the weekend generated some good results and the best cars commanded some high prices. The headline car which was an Aston Martin DB5 however failed to sell.We were particularly impressed with the surrey top Triumph TR5 which had been subject to a complete restoration that had been completed to a high standard and the final price of £41,440 looked well deserved. There was also a superb Lotus Elan +2 which came with a thick invoice file showing that a great deal of care has been lavished on this car. The car topped the upper end of its estimate to achieve a final selling price of £20720. The car that we would have taken home if budget was no limit would have to be the 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Sport Targa which had been fully rebuilt by Porsche and the lucky new owner was therefore taking home what was effectively a new car. The price of £115,360 still looked cheap bearing in mind the cost of the restoration which would far exceed this.
