H&H
21 October 2020
H&H held an online auction last week which generated mixed results. The standout performers include £14,062 paid for a 1972 Mini 1275GT which had no reserve. There is a healthy demand for good examples of these cars and this one was never going to sell cheap! A1985 MG Metro Turbo which is a particularly rare car especially one with just 9,877 miles sold for a strong £17,917 which we suspect is an auction record for one of these. The sale also included an MG Maestro Turbo which is even rarer than the Metro Turbo. This particular example was fraying at the edges but still achieved £9,562. There was spirited bidding for a Rolls Royce Phantom VI ( ex Mohamed Al-Fayed) which broke its upper estimate to make £84,375. The cheap car of the sale had to be the 1950 Armstrong Siddeley 18hp Hurricane. It had been in the same ownership for 50 years and was probably showing its age, but still good value at just £10,000.
