H&H

H&H held their first physical auction of the year at one of their usual venues, the Imperial War Museum Duxford this week. There were no major surprises and it is clear that there is still plenty of demand for pre war cars with £191,250 paid for a Lagonda M45 Rapide Tourer whilst some very spirited bidding took a 1933 Rolls Royce 20/25 to double its estimate at £78,750, clearly the rakish good looks of the Freestone & Webb body inspired two people to fight over a very nice looking Rolls Royce. A very nice looking Austin Seven Chummy made £18,000 which is good money for one of these at the moment. A Bristol 400 made a new auction record for this model at £72,000 which reflects to some extent its excellent provenance having been owned by Lady Diana White the wife of George White who founded Bristol cars. More modern machinery continues to find a healthy following with £56,250 paid for a 1990 Audi UR Quattro 2.2 Turbo RR 20V (One of only 295 RHD 20V Models Produced)
