Coys

This Coys auction included some very interesting cars and as it turns out several opportunities to acquire cars at potentially rewarding prices. We are referring in particular to two Jaguar XKs, one was an XK150 which had sat in the vendors garage literally from the day he bought it for the best part of twenty years. The car on inspection was actually in very good shape and although the engine had not been turned it would be surprising if it was seized. The car really only needed recommissioning and a new coat of paint and you would have had a very nice car indeed. The car sold for £53,000 which in the current market was very good value. The other XK was an XK120 that appeared to be in worse order but bearing in mind that these cars are now fetching in excess of £100k, the final purchase price of £57,800 leaves plenty of room for recommissioning and restoration. The sale took place in the grounds of Blenheim Palace and with plenty of sunshine it made for a good day out for car hunting and some very good prices were achieved on the day.
