Classic Car Auctions

Classic Car Auctions two day sale at the Practical Classics NEC Restoration show produced some solid results with one exceptional one. A BMW M635CSI achieved a world record £100,100 on the day which far exceeded the estimate and everyone's expectations. The car did have just 15,000 miles on the clock and was clearly in superb original condition, but whether it warranted such a huge price tag remains to be seen. A 1980 MGB Roadster rubber bumper car with 35,000 miles on the clock achieved just under the £10k mark which is good going for one of the later cars and shows once again that low mileage and originality are highly coveted at the moment. There was also a 1500 mile MGBGT rubber bumper car which made just over £12000. A 1990 Porsche 928GT car which is one of just 38 right hand drive cars achieved £49500 and was again another low mileage car with under 26,000 miles on the clock. A bargain of the show had to be the £13750 paid for a Triumph Roadster 1800 which went for just £13,750. Overall a good sale with no signs of stress in the market and a general feeling that good classics are achieving good prices.
