With the classic car auction industry in a state of paralysis following the arrival of COVID 19, auction houses are having to quickly adapt to new selling methods to try and keep some momentum going during what is traditionally the peak selling period. CCA held a timed online auction over a 16 day period which given the circumstances delivered a not too bad result with some 61% of the cars offered finding new homes with £1.7m of sale proceeds. Unsurprisingly there was no chance of any auction records being broken and in fact there were possibly a few cheap cars finding new homes such as the £42,660 paid for a Jaguar XK140 coupe.
