Brightwells
15 May 2015
Brightwells auction this week was again very well attended and with such a diverse range of cars it was not that surprising to see large numbers once again fill the auction hall. By our numbers just over 80% of the lots were sold making this a very good sale for Brightwells. There were some very interesting cars on offer including a number of very low mileage cars. A VW 1300 Beetle which was the first car that a loval VW dealership sold had made its way back to that dealer who had decided it was time for thr car to be sold having sat in their showroom for many years as a means of promotion. The car had just 26,000 miles on the clock and was in exceptionally good condition which is why the car achieved £11,220, high but certainly justifiable. A Triumph Spitfire 1300 with just 15,350 miles on the clock looked like a bargain at £5,720. The car that most impressed us was a beautiful Riley RMF that had been restored to a very high standard. Two people in the room clearly wanted it taking the price to £20900 which is just short of a record for a Riley RM series car and we suspect a record for a RMF.
