Anglia Car Auctions
15 June 2019
Anglia Car Auctions latest sale had the same volume of cars you expect now of their sales, but perhaps for this sale the quality was missing with a lot of bargain basement classics finding new homes, but not so much of the rarities or low mileage cars that we normally see. Speaking of rarities, the 1947 Aermacchi MB1 was certainly unusual and perhaps something that you would expect a no sale on, but quite to the contrary, it found a willing buyer at £10,600 who was in fact trade and they now have it on the market for £20k. Quite some mark up, but perhaps those present at the sale did not appreciate the rarity factor or original condition this machine was in. Austin Sevens are undoubtedly still falling in value at present. A Ruby which admittedly according to the blurb had been the subject on an insurance claim made just £3,885. Go back 5 years and these were regularly making £6k to £10k. One low mileage car was an MG1100 with just 53,000 miles on the clock. This particular example looks very nice indeed and well worth the £8,586 it sold for. In fact it was worth a good deal more than that as a dealer had it on their forecourt the following day at £10,995 and sold it almost immediately. It goes to show that despite having a huge number of people in the room on the day, cars can still be had for below their retail value. Finally, another low mileage car in the sale was a 1956 Morris Isis Traveller. The car has just 46,000 miles on the clock and has been bouncing around the market for the last two years trying to find a home. It was with a dealer in 2017 at £12,750 and towards the end of last year was with another dealer at just under £17k. It finally found a new home at the sale fo £11,660.
