Series 1 E-Type achieves $626,500 in America

Despite the undoubtedly slow market conditions the auctions still throw up some major outliers in their results. This particular concours 1961 outside bonnet lock 3.8 coupe achieved a wapping $626,500 at their Pebble Beach August sale. This is still over £500,000 in UK money which is extremely strong even for a perfect car. This must be considered something of an anomaly given current market conditions but does demonstrate once again that it just takes two people in an auction to fight over a car to create a significant result.
