Mathewsons will be holding their second sale of the year next week on the 21st. The auction house has put out a statement saying business as usual but it seems inevitable that attendance numbers might well be hit given the worries over Covid-19. It may well be that people will choose to bid over the phone rather than attend a busy sale day. We are in unknown territory as to how the virus will impact on classic car auctions and with infection rates on the rise people will certainly be worried in the short term. Mathewsons do not offer online bidding but this might well change. The lot list for next week is as big as ever with lots of interesting cars which certainly makes this sale another interesting one. We are particularly taken with the Morris 10 Y Type van which is yet to show an estimate. The Fordson van in the previous sale had loads of interest and we expect a similar story for the Morris.
