Mack Fire Truck

This picture popped up in our archives this morning and we couldn't resist putting it on the site. It is a 1922 Mack Fire Truck which was included in a Historics sale last year. What a fabulous albeit strange looking fire truck. Originating in California it has been rebuilt a couple of times and is chain driven. It failed to sell with an estimate of £13,000 to £18,000. Sadly only something you can buy if you have the odd aircraft hangar to spare for storage, but a great looking thing nevertheless and hopefully it has found a new home now.
