DT Matthewson and Classic Car Auctions go head to head this weekend

The proliferation in auctions house in recent years mean there are just not enough weekends in the year to prevent clashes of dates which is a shame as both CCA and Matthewsons provide sales with lots of cars to choose from. That said undoubtedly there will be enough punters to share between the two on Saturday and given that the market is still reasonably buoyant, we would expect both sales to achieve good results for the right cars. Our pick of the CCA cars is the Volvo P1800S. We believe these cars will appreciate further over the coming years. Their association with Sir Roger Moore in the TV series The Saint has certainly helped their appeal along with limited supply and great looks. The estimate on this car is £16,000 to £20,000, but we would not be surprised to see it surpass the £20k mark. DT Matthewson have a 1968 Triumph TR5 estimated at £32,000 to £34,000. We do not know the condition, but this is clearly cheap for a TR5 especially given that asking prices for good TR4s are regularly around the £25k mark.
