Brightwells this week

Brightwells first sale of the year takes place this week and it has shaped up to be a good auction with plenty to interest most tastes. Examples of what are on offer include an 11,000 miles from new Morris Minor Traveller with just two owners which has just emerged from 45 years of storage and is estimated at £10,000 to £15,000. Among the oddball rarities are a 1936 Fordson Model 61 25-CWT dropside pickup. These are fitted with a V8 making for an interesting engine note for a pickup. This one appears a little scruffy and is estimated at £8,000 to £10,000. For some sleek pre war motoring there is a 1934 Standard Avon Special, great styling for an estimate of £19,000 to £21,000. It almost looks like a mini Bentley! Lots of nice Austin Sevens in this sale including a 1935 Nippy estimated at £11,000 to £14,000.In the low mileage stakes you can't get much lower than a 11 mile 1989 Mini 30 estimated at £18,500 to £20,500. Finally, the no reserve award goes to a 1968 Aston Martin DBS Vantage which has been with the same owner for 45 years and is one of just 70 made.
