Bonhams at Goodwood Members Meeting

Bonhams Goodwood sale takes place this coming weekend. As always the sale has an interesting selection of cars with rarities along with the more mainstream. Whilst the pre war market has struggled in recent years the big name models still find ready buyers, one such example of this in the sale is the impressive looking 1935 Lagonda M45 Pillarless Saloon. These pillarless cars have real presence and powered by a 4.25 litre engine they are certainly not lacking in power. Whilst the mechanics of the car are in need of work, this one still looks reasonably estimated at £ 50,000 - 60,000. There are in fact some lovely pre war cars in this sale, an area of the market which seems to be increasingly less well supported by the auction houses. Other cars on offer include a 1921 Vauxhall 30-98 E-Type Velox Tourer, a 1936 Talbot BG110 Alloy-bodied Tourer, There is also a very rare right hand drive 1937 Cord Model 812 Westchester Sedan which we believe was sold at this very sale a couple of years ago. The car is estimated at £ 50,000 - 60,000. The top of the pile is taken by a 1937 Alvis 4.3-Litre 'Short Chassis' Tourer, one of only 12 built and estimated at £ 420,000 - 480,000.
