AC Greyhound at Brightwells Leominster sale

AC Greyhound at Brightwells Leominster sale

In a market which is somewhat lacklustre at the moment, the auctions are starting to offer up good bargains and opportunities. One such opportunity might well be an AC Greyhound which is due to be sold at Brightwells Leominster sale on the 15th May. The AC Greyhound was manufactured in very limited number with only 83 reported to have been built. They were offered at the time with a choice of two Bristol engines, the AC 2 litre or a Ford Zephyr engine. The vast majority and arguably most desirable are the Bristol engined variants, but the AC powered cars come a close second and that is what is on offer at Brightwells. The car looks lovely and is highly original judging from the narrative. These cars very rarely come to market and at the estimate of £40,000 to £50,000 this looks cheap when you consider what you have to pay for an Aceca now. The last AC Greyhound to come to auction was with H&H in April 2014 and that sold for just under £44,000. With the market generally weak at the moment this car might well sell for within estimate, but we reckon it is cheap if it does.
