The Diana, Princess of Wales 1985 Ford Escort RS Turbo S1 at Silverstone Auctions
Silverstone Auctions next sale on the 27th August at the Silverstone Classic includes a nice array of investment grade classics and one such example is a 1985 Ford Escort RS Turbo S1 which was previously owned by Diana, Princess of Wales. The car has just 24,961 miles on the clock and has been within a private collection.

Silverstone Auctions took a brave gamble focusing a sale on pre war era cars which took place yesterday. It was certainly nice to see an auction house focus on what is becoming an increasingly unloved area of the market with demand for pre war cars continuing to wane.

Historics next sale takes place at Windsor View Lakes this coming Saturday. With 282 lots in total there is a good selection of cars on offer, many of which are no reserve.

Classic Car Auctions sale last weekend generated a couple of interesting records. The first which was well flagged up by the classic car community was a 1990 Audi ur-Quattro 20v (RR) which made £86,625.

With lots of auction sales just over the horizon there is plenty for buyers to choose from before the summer break. Hampsons are a relative newcomer but they are already finding some interesting cars to populate their catalogues.

CCA have their next sale at the Warwickshire Event Centre next week on the 18th. The lot list looks excellent with plenty to suit all budgets from restorations upwards.
Historics results now online
Historics latest sale took place yesterday at the Ascot racecourse and the results are now available online. A few results are worthy of mention such as the no reserve Ford Fiesta XR2 with 60,754 miles on the clock which made £20,720.
Bargain Lagonda at SWVA
SWVA held their latest auction last week and among the lots on offer was a 1953 3. 0L Tickford Body Drophead Coupe.

This beautiful Alfa Romeo Giulia 1600 Spider has been recovered from a barn after it went into dry storage at some point in the early 1980s. This 1600 model was introduced in 1962.
Lagonda Surfaces After 35 Years
This 1931 Lagonda 3-Litre Tourer has emerged after sitting in storage since 1988. The car has been with its current owner for the past 43 years.
Highlights of Mathewsons sale
There are a few standout results from Mathewsons latest auction which took place over the weekend of the 18th/19th March. This includes a huge £25,886 paid for a 1973 Ford Cortina 1600L MK3 with 59,000 miles on the clock which was estimated at £6,500 to £8,500.
Ultra Rare MG Metro 6R4 For Sale
Priced at £450,000 this car is expected to accumulate offers well over its previous sale record of £203,437. This Group B rally car is believed to be one of just 2 examples left.
