About the Jaguar E-Type 3.8 Litre Coupe Series 1
When the E-Type Jaguar was introduced in 1961 it had flat floors and bonnet catches mounted externally. A footwell was soon introduced to improve driving comfort and the bonnet catches were moved to the interior. The early models are one of the most sought after.
The E-Type provided exceptional performance and handling at a budget price and created massive market interest when it was introduced. Even today it is considered to be one of the prettiest cars ever made.

Left hand drive :- Fixed head coupe 5872, Open two seater 6886
Right hand drive :- Fixed head coupe 1798, Open two seater 942
The first 91 OTS right hand drive cars had outside bonnet locks.In total across the rhd and lhd range the first 500 cars built had flat floors and outside bonnet locks.
