About the Austin Seven Taylor Semi Sports

A company called H. Taylor and Co. of Sussex Place, Kensington bodied their 2 seat sports version of Austin 7s in the late 1920s. The standard chassis was modified and strengthened to Special Sports specification to receive the coachwork. The years that the model was built is estimated at 1927 - 1929 based on evidence of known vehicles rather than any historical evidence.

It was an ash frame construction, clad in steel with a high curved tail that drops away to the rear. It had a wooden dashboard. The 1928 Taylors advertisement offered the car at £158 plus £10 extra for a dickey seat.

The Austin 7 had a 3 speed gearbox.
