About the Allard P2

Sidney Herbert Allard formed his motor company in 1945 and was based in Clapham SE London. In 1952, along with his co drivers, Sidney won the Monte Carlo Rally. To celebrate this he launched the P2 " Monte Carlo" based on the K3 open top car. Construction was aluminium panels over a wooden frame. It was a large 2-door coupe and there was a woody estate variant with 8 seats, called the Safari. The P2 was available with either a Ford V8 3.6 Litre engine, or a Mercury 4.4 Litre. Built between 1952 and 1955, it did not prove popular and only 11 were made. Versions of the Safari were built with Cadillac and Lincoln engines, but only 10 of these were made.
