Silverstone Auctions NEC sale resulted in some very strong results despite a difficult market backdrop. Top billing and price went to the ex works Le Mans Triumph TR2 which shot way through its estimate to land at £258,750. Provenance counts and this one had it all. A lovely Aston Martin DB5 managed £618,750 which was a good price in a difficult market for Astons at the moment. BMWs from the 90s are starting to really pick up in value at the moment with the 840 and 850 cars commanding big premiums at auction if they are low mileage examples. There is a similar story for the E30 cars and one such example in this sale, a 325i E30 sport with just 6,800 miles on the clock made £51,188 which is surely a record for one of these.
