Historics

Historics latest sale which took place yesterday produced a new record for a Triumph TR6 which sold for an estimate busting £57,732 against the estimate of £28,000 to £35,000. The car had been the subject of a £70,000 restoration and the finished product certainly reflected that as did the price paid. We don't see this as a sudden reset for TR6 values but it does show why the best cars will command high prices.

The other sale results were generally quite strong with a good number of cars selling within estimate and some above. A good example was a lovely looking MK1 Ford Cortina 1500GT which was in Lotus colours and achieved £33,600 against its estimate of £27,000 to £32,000. Perhaps a sign of where the hot money will be flowing was the £56,560 paid for a 2010 Ford Focus RS500 against the estimate of £33,000 to £37,000.
