Records continue to fall in the world of classic cars and Bonham Quail Lodge auction in the US was no exception with the headline grabbing 1962-63 Ferrari 250 GTO making a new record for a classic with a final price tag of £22,909, 244. Some truly lovely Ferrari's were sold over the two day event including a Ferrari 250 GT Cabriolet S1 Pinin Farina which went on to achieve £4,099,200 and our favourite, a Ferrari 250 Mille Miglia which reached £4,363,665. At present there is clearly no let up in the demand for the Ferrari marque and indeed any high end make at present. There are also signs of strength in some upcoming makes and models such as the Alfa Romeo Montreal which achieved just under £60,000. These cars can still be found in Europe for 20k to 30k and good original examples could well have good upside potential over the coming years.
