Anglia Car Auctions

Another well attended ACA auction with another large selection of cars to tempt buyers on the day. The results were mixed and indicative of a classic car market that is perhaps now in a consolidation phase. Cars towards the lower end of the spectrum that are in good order and rare made some strong prices compared to their historical trends. The £8,820 paid for an Austin 3 litre is a case in point although it was a low mileage example with just 32,000 on the clock. A rare Austin Cambridge estate is another such example with just one owner from new and 7,000 miles on the clock although it is unclear from the narrative if that is original. A BMW 635CSI with 44,000 miles on the clock from new achieved a strong £17,850 including premium which is close to M power money. Having sold a Ford Capri 3000E broadspeed at their last auction for just over £50k, another one popped up in this sale which was a 3000GT but this one failed to find a buyer even with an estimate of £29,000 to £35,000. A Capri 280 Brooklands was hammered away at £17,430 whilst a 2.8 injection made just over £11,000. A Ford Escort RS Turbo with just over 44,000 miles on the clock achieved £20,475 showing once again the market's appetite for anything RS remains intact. It is amazing to see E-Type 2+2 coupe's now regularly fetching over £50k and this sale was now exception with a series 1 car going all the way to £53,550 including premium.Mercedes 230 Pagodas are continuing to hold their values as evidenced by the £73,500 achieved by a 1965 car that appeared to be in lovely condition befitting of the 49,700 miles from new on the clock. ACA are masters at finding low mileage cars for their sales and the 1985 Rover 3500 Vanden Plas EFi Auto certainly showed in its condition the 13,625 miles on the clock. The final price of £9,765 is top money for one of these cars but you would expect that with such a low mileage.
